Campaign promises
The Left Party’s vision for 2026-2030 is simple. Everyone in Solna should have access to a good school, an apartment they can afford and elderly care which puts needs before profit.
An affordable city for the people. You can help us realize that vision on september 13th.

1. FREEZE THE RENT
Food, electricity and rent costs have skyrocketed whilst salaries and pensions lag behind. To protect tenants from rising costs the Left Party wants to freeze the rent in the municipal company Signalisten. -
2. CHEAP YOUTH APARTMENTS
With a waiting list of almost 15 years, it is currently impossible for young people to get their own place in Solna. We want to build cheap, climate-neutral youth apartments so that life can really begin. -
3. THE SOLNA CARD
We want university and college students who are registered in Solna to receice a free SL card. Sustainable travel should not be a question of finances. -
4. JOBS FOR THE YOUTH
We want to create more summerjobs and jobs that can be combined with studies for 8th and 9th graders, to give them early work experience and contacts for the future. -
5. A GREENER CITY
The Left Party wants to protect and renew Solnas green areas, nature reserves and parks so that more people can enjoy them. We also want to add more green elements to the city environment, so that biodiversity is strengthened and Solna becomes greener and more sustainable.
-
6. THE SCHOOL PROMISE
The Left Party wants to continue to invest heavily in schools in order to hire more teachers, reduce class sizes, and strengthen the Student Health department. Solna’s schools must never go back to politics of cuts and closures. -
7. FREE BREAKFAST AND LATER START TIME
By introducing a later start-time and free breakfast for students in grade 6-9, we ensure that all students are given better opportunities to succeed in school. -
8. MORE PERSONNEL IN PRESCHOOL
We want more personnel and smaller classes in preschool as well as the after-school centers, so that every child feels seen, safe and receive the support they need. -
9. SIX HOUR WORKDAY
We want to introduce the 80-90-100 model as well as a six-hour workday pilot project in elderly care, to improve the working environment and reduce resignations. -
10. STOP WELFARE CRIMINALITY
Private welfare companies that cheat with tax money should never be allowed to take care of Solna’s children and elderly. We demand an absolute stop to privatizations and aim to undertake more welfare under municipal administration in order to prevent welfare crime.
